Bible verses for powerful biblical affirmations
What scriptures should we think of when creating biblical affirmations? Well, you can use any verse or passage that contains a promise of God. Most verses that express parts of God’s character can also be applied in biblical declarations.
The Word of God, in both the Old and the New Testament, is full of verses expressing God’s love and mighty power. All those promises are true for each of us, children of God. God doesn’t distinguish between any of us—His promises are eternal and for all believers in Christ.
You can use any Scripture for your personal biblical positive affirmations. Just make sure you use a positive scripture. However, some Bible verses are the perfect go-to for positive biblical affirmations to decree over your life. They can either be used as such (the exact Scripture) or easily adapted by inserting pronouns or your name.
Here are some examples of those types of Scriptures. But remember, these are not the only ones.
What is Romans 8 28?
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Romans 8:28 (NLT)
This verse in Romans 8 is a great reminder that whatever troubles we are going through will not be the end. God can use every situation for our good. Remember Joseph, who was sold into slavery and ended up innocently in prison for years. God used all of that for the good of Joseph and his family (including the brothers who had betrayed Him!).
God hasn’t changed since then. He is still the same God. And he is our God. No matter what you are going through, remember the love of God and the truth of Romans 8 verse 28. Let that encourage you to be strong and expect good things to come out of your situation. Even the toughest situations can be transformed into something positive by God.
The positive biblical affirmation based on Romans 8:28 can be:
“Everything will work out for my good because I love God and am called according to His purpose.”
What is Philippians 4 13?
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
Philippians 4 verse 13 is my favorite verse—it is my life motto. I use this verse as positive biblical affirmation every day, randomly and in specific situations. When I am about to start a challenging task or start something new, I remind myself of the truth in this verse and declare it aloud.
This specific passage in the Bible affirms we can do ALL things—no need to doubt our abilities. But moreover, it affirms HOW we can do it: through CHRIST, who gives us strength. It is no longer OUR own strength. This moves the responsibility and ability to Him. It is through His power in us that can do all things. We only need to avail ourselves.
The verse in Philippians 4 is a powerful reminder of our identity in Christ. We can encourage ourselves with this powerful truth daily.
God’s Word is powerful and life-giving. It is not mere letters. When we speak the verse from Philippians over ourselves through a positive biblical affirmation, we set God to work. He is faithful and watches over His word to perform it. We will see the manifestation of God’s work in our lives when we declare it.
The verse is a pure Biblical affirmation—you can affirm the exact Bible verse!
Positive biblical affirmation:
“I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
What is Isiah 41 10?
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)
This scripture confirms God’s faithfulness to us. Because He is with us, we don’t have to be afraid. We don’t even need to be strong, because God will do that for us. Oh, what a wonderful verse! It even confirms God will help us!
We can use the truth of Isaiah 41 verse 10 whenever we are afraid, discouraged, or simply feel down. By repeating the scripture in our minds or speaking it aloud, we build faith and trust in God’s Word and God’s power to help us. We will receive encouragement and empowerment to go through hard things.
Above is how the Bible verse is. In your biblical positive affirmation, you can make it:
“I will not fear, because God is with me. I am not dismayed, because Jahweh is my God. He will strengthen me and help me. He will hold me up with His righteous right hand.”
In the next section, we’ll focus on a specific type of faith affirmations: I am affirmations from the Bible. (And yes J, you’ll get a free I am affirmations pdf).
Who God says I am affirmations?
In addition to the ‘general’ positive statements based on God’s Word, we can use so-called ‘I-AM’ affirmations. Each I-am declaration confirms the truth of God’s Word over our lives.
I am affirmations from the Bible are powerful because they affirm who we are in Christ. We are created in God’s own image, we are God’s child—but sometimes we forget that. By declaring those statements loudly (preferably), we speak truth over ourselves and align our thoughts with God’s perspective.
By declaring these affirmations, we remind ourselves of our true identity in Christ and walk in confidence, knowing that we are deeply loved and valued by God. These affirmations can be spoken out loud, written down, or reflected upon daily to reinforce our faith and strengthen our spiritual journey.

What is the main point of Ephesians 1 3 14?
The Scriptures of Ephesians 1 verses 3 to 14 are full of God’s promises and statements about who we are. These Bible verses in Ephesians confirm our true identity in Christ Jesus. That is the main point of this part of Ephesians chapter 1.
God’s truth about who we are in Him shines through each of the verses. Distilling those biblical truths from this passage is a great way to engage with the promises of God.
Let’s have a look at the passage in Ephesians 1 verses 3 to 14 (ESV):
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. 11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”
Based on this, we can create powerful Bible affirmations. Below, you’ll find the list of God’s promises, reworded as affirmations. You can use these powerful Christian affirmations to declare over yourself. The best way is to say them aloud, but you can also silently affirm in your mind. You will reap the best results when you do it daily.
