When we want to win our spiritual battles, we should not underestimate the power of prayer. And not because we are so powerful, but because the prayer of a righteous person has great power because God adds strength to it.

So, what’s that, being a woman prayer warrior?

Do we need to fulfill certain requirements, or can we all be prayer warriors for God?

The term warrior woman of God sounds awesome and unattainable. We may imagine those strong female warriors or mighty women of battle. And then we look at ourselves and think we don’t have what it takes. We think we are not and can never be a woman prayer warrior.

Or perhaps we believe only female pastors, pastors’ wives, theologians, and those in ministry can rightly be called prayer warrior women. Or only if we are anointed and directly called by God. But that’s a lie. Every praying woman is a prayer warrior. EVERY praying woman.

Even if we don’t use flowery prayers or don’t close our eyes when we pray, even if we don’t have a theological degree or a deep understanding of the Bible, we can still be powerful prayer warriors. And we can pray powerful prayers!

Being a prayer warrior is not about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s about having a heart that seeks after God and a willingness to trust Him with everything.

A warrior woman of God is also a woman who fights for God. With a sword, or by being extraverted and attacking people? No. By going on her knees, at the feet of Christ Jesus, and expecting God’s Kingdom to come and intervene in her daily life. She wants the will of God to be done, not her own.

A warrior woman of God holds God’s Word in her heart and prays based on the truth of the Scriptures. She sees God’s power at work in her life and that of others, thanks to the power of prayer.

In conclusion, prayer is a powerful weapon that God has given us to fight against the enemy. As Christian women, we can be prayer warriors and make a difference in our homes, communities, and the world. Let’s commit to developing the characteristics of powerful woman prayer warriors and let’s pray without ceasing!

So, what does it take to become that woman? What does it take to become a female warrior?

What is a prayer warrior?

A prayer warrior is simply someone who prays and expects answers to her prayers. A prayer warrior seizes every chance to pray, daily. Does this disqualify you when you skip a day (or two…)? No. God doesn’t watch the number of prayers or particular words. Otherwise, we may become like the Pharisees, and pray because we should pray as Christian women.

God watches our hearts. He sees it when we turn to Him when we need help instead of relying on our own strength or that of others. He hears it when we whisper a sorrowful prayer when in agony. He listens to our every prayer.

It is not the quantity of our prayers that counts, but the quality. Does that mean we need to address God with so-called holy words and pray lengthy prayers? No. The quality is in the intensity of our prayers. Above all, quality is when we pray according to His will and His Word.

God is faithful, He keeps His promises. We can keep Him to the promises during our prayer time. That’s why praying based on the Word of God is so powerful. We literally stand on what God already said and then hold Him to it.

We can rely on the Scriptures and the promptings of the Holy Spirit to lead us to the throne of God. And then, when we pray in Jesus’ Name, miracles happen. Doors open. Bondage breaks. People get saved. The sick get healed. And the Kingdom of God advances.

When we pray this way, we can rightly say a praying woman is a powerful woman! And that’s because of God, and not ourselves.

Who is the most powerful prayer warrior in the Bible?

The greatest example of a prayer warrior is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. He is not a woman, but as women of God, we can mirror ourselves in Him and copy what He did.

• We can pray whenever we get the chance.
• We can pray alone, and we can pray with prayer partners.
• We can pray aloud, and we can pray silently in our hearts.
• We can pray in public, and we can seclude ourselves for prayer time.
• We can pray for the big things in life and we can pray for the small things.

Prayer warrior armor

Prayer is a powerful tool in the hands of a faithful woman. It is a weapon against the spiritual forces of evil. A weapon held by a strong prayer warrior.

Warriors don’t go to the battlefield unprotected. They wear protective armor because they know the enemy will try to get them. In the same way, we, Christian women, should also not attempt to fight the true enemy while unprotected.

We need to safeguard ourselves when we pray, because being a prayer warrior is all about spiritual warfare. So you need to protect yourself. How do we do that?

God’s Word tells us what to do.

First, before we pray, we need to acknowledge where our strength comes from.

“Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Then, once we move the attention from ourselves to God, we can take the next step: put on the whole armor of God. It is His armor that protects us against attacks from the enemy—His armor keeps us safe.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”

• She believes God is who He says He is and that He can do what He says He can do.
• She trusts in His goodness and His love for her, even amid difficult circumstances.
• Her faith is not based on what she sees or feels, but on what she knows to be true about God from His Word.

No. Right now, right where we are, at home, at work, on the road, we can pray prayer-warrior-prayers! We can be fervent in spirit and create a woman’s battle plan for strategic prayer.

And never forget that every woman who prays is a dangerous woman because the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective (James 5:16).
